Mechanical Fitters Wanted – Depot Work | Immediate Starts | Sydney

Swetha International is recruiting qualified Mechanical Fitters to join a large rail and heavy-industry upgrade program supporting Sydney Trains operations.

n

This is not short shutdown work.

n

We're building a dedicated production team for a program involving rolling stock upgrades, mechanical system renewals, safety equipment installation, and large-asset modifications.

n

What you'll be doing

n

You'll be part of a structured technical team delivering:

n

Mechanical maintenance, upgrades and modification work

n

Removal and installation of mechanical components and assemblies

n

Fit-off, alignment and adjustment of equipment

n

Supporting equipment change-outs and system upgrades

n

Working from drawings, procedures and technical specifications

n

Reassembly and reinstatement of panels, covers and fittings

n

Working in depot environments including confined spaces

n

Following established procedures, scopes and safety systems

n

This is hands‐on mechanical work on large assets — not workshop‐only or construction site hopping.

What we need from you

n





Trade qualification in Mechanical (Certificate III Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent)

n

Strong mechanical fitting and installation experience

n

Ability to interpret drawings and follow technical procedures

n

Comfortable with physical work and depot environments

n

Full Australian working rights

n

Own basic hand tools

n

Rail-ready or willing to become rail-ready

n

RIW card (or willingness to obtain — CAT 3 medical + D&A; required)

n

National Police Check (within the past 6 months)

n

Highly regarded (not essential)

n

Rolling stock or rail experience

n

Heavy industry / mobile plant background

n

Experience with large asset modification or upgrade programs

n
