Are you passionate about the outdoors? Do you want to shape the green spaces of your local community? AGA is looking for a Maribyrnong City Council is looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice Horticulture (Parks & Gardens) to join our team.

n

You will work alongside qualified Horticulturists to maintain, protect, and enhance our beautiful parks, reserves, creeks, and open spaces. This hands-on role combines practical on-the-job training with formal study to set up your career in horticulture.

What You Will Do

n

- Green Space Maintenance: Assist with weeding, herbicide spraying, brush-cutting, mulching, mowing, and pruning.
n
- Asset Care: Help with path repairs, fencing, and nursery management.
n
- Safety & Monitoring: Inspect parks and report on damaged or dangerous park fixtures.
n
- Equipment Upkeep: Safely operate and maintain council vehicles, plant, and machinery.
n
- Administration: Complete daily timesheets, maintenance requests, and quality logs.
n
- Formal Learning: Attend and participate in all required apprenticeship training courses.
n
- Nature Lovers: A genuine interest in horticulture, plants, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.

- Team Players:



A positive attitude with a willingness to learn from qualified professionals.

- Safety Conscious: Commitment to maintaining safe work practices and following council policies.
