Purchasing Officer
n Permanent | South East, Brisbane | Up to $110,000 package

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Purchasing Officer to join one of Australia's leading electrical contracting and engineering businesses.

n

My client has delivered more than 320 projects nationwide across commercial, residential, infrastructure, health, education, data centres and government. With a robust pipeline of major projects, the business is seeking a commercially minded purchasing professional to support its continued growth.

n

The Role

n

Working closely with project managers, estimators, finance and site teams, you will coordinate the procurement of electrical materials, equipment and services across multiple projects.

n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Raising and managing purchase orders from creation through to delivery
n
- Sourcing electrical materials, equipment and project supplies
n
- Obtaining and comparing supplier quotations
n
- Negotiating pricing, lead times and commercial terms
n
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships
n
- Monitoring stock availability, back orders and delivery schedules
n
- Coordinating deliveries across project sites and the head office
n
- Resolving pricing, invoice, quality and delivery discrepancies
n
- Maintaining accurate supplier, product and purchasing information
n
- Supporting project teams with urgent and specialist procurement needs
n
- Identifying opportunities to improve costs and purchasing processes
n
- Ensuring procurement activities align with project budgets and deadlines
n
- Assisting with supplier reviews and contract administration
n

About You

n

To be successful,



you will ideally offer:

n

n
- Previous experience as a Purchasing Officer, Procurement Officer or Buyer
n
- Experience within electrical contracting, construction, engineering, manufacturing or trades
n
- Strong supplier-management and negotiation skills
n
- Confidence reviewing quotations and commercial terms
n
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
n
- The ability to manage competing priorities and urgent project requirements
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
n
- Competence using purchasing, ERP and Microsoft Office systems
n
- A practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach
n

n

Knowledge of electrical products, construction materials or project-based procurement would be highly regarded.
