We are currently seeking a Full Time Permanent staff member to join our team.
n
The role
n
Reporting to the Coordinator Parks Development, we are seeking a Crew Leader for Horticultural Maintenance who can bring their skills and experience to:
n
n
- Lead and motivate the Maintenance team in the field to deliver high-quality outcomes with a strong focus on team orientation and productivity.
n
- Oversee daily operations across Garden Maintenance programs.
n
- Undertake regular small plant audits to ensure machinery is accounted for and in good condition.
n
- Undertake when directed condition auditing of Park assets.
n
- Understanding incident management and assisting staff through the process.
n
- Implement and enforce safe work practices in accordance with OH&S; legislation, SWMS, risk assessments, and Council's safety protocols.
n
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in productivity, safety, and service delivery, providing recommendations to the Parks Development Team Leader.
n
- Track and manage resource use (labour, equipment, and materials) to ensure works are completed on time.
n
- Deliver a high standard of customer service to internal stakeholders, user groups, and the general public,
ensuring professional communication and positive engagement.
n
- Provide on-the-job training, mentoring, and support to team members to build capability and promote a positive team culture.
n
- Ensure all Parks Development activities align with Council's Best Value principles and contribute to environmental sustainability.
n
n
To be considered you will have
n
n
- Local government experience is desirable
n
- Advanced knowledge of Horticultural practices.
n
- Demonstrate competent Computer skills, including the use of Microsoft windows packages.
n
- Skill and competency in the operation and maintenance of small plant and equipment for horticultural/landscaping works.
n
- Supervisory and Leadership skills.
n
- Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health & Safety Procedures.
n
- Knowledge and understanding in all matters of safe plant use; work practices and workplace safety.
n
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
n
- Ability to work to and develop and improve Parks Development maintenance programs
n
n
