Job Description
C and B Manufacturing PTY LTD – Clayton South VIC
n
Packaging artwork with flexibility and real ownership
n
Slipstick is looking for an experienced Packaging & Production Artwork Designer to join our production team on a permanent part-time basis.
n
This is a practical, detail-focused role working across Photoshop image preparation, retail packaging, print-ready artwork, product photography, instructions and online product imagery.
n
Slipstick develops and sells furniture protection, floor protection, anti-slip and related consumer products through major retailers and online marketplaces in Australia, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Europe.
n
About the role
n
Much of our packaging already has established templates, branding and layouts. Your role will involve accurately updating, adapting and preparing artwork for different products, retailers, packaging suppliers and international markets.
n
Advanced practical Photoshop capability is particularly significant. You will regularly prepare, retouch and manage product images for packaging, websites, Amazon and other online marketplaces.
n
During an initial structured transition, you will work alongside our experienced long-term designer, who will train you in Slipstick's products, packaging templates, artwork files and print-production requirements.
n
Over time, we want the successful person to develop detailed knowledge of our product range and take ownership of Slipstick's day-to-day artwork and production files.
n
Hours and flexibility
n
This is a permanent part-time position for 24 hours per week, ideally worked as four six-hour days.
n
There is some flexibility around the particular weekdays and starting and finishing times, and a school-hours arrangement may suit the role well.
n
The position will initially be based onsite at our Clayton South premises so you can work directly with our designer and production team during the transition.
n
Some remote work may be considered later,
once you are fully trained and able to manage the work independently.
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
- Editing, retouching, masking, clipping and colour-correcting product images in Adobe Photoshop.
n
- Preparing product images for packaging, websites, Amazon and other online marketplaces.
n
- Photographing Slipstick products and preparing clean, accurate product images.
n
- Preparing and updating retail packaging artwork.
n
- Working from established Adobe Illustrator templates and packaging dielines.
n
- Creating accurate, print-ready artwork for packaging suppliers and printers.
n
- Adapting packaging for different products, retailers and international markets.
n
- Preparing product instructions, information sheets and sales material.
n
- Checking copy, dimensions, barcodes, product details and technical information.
n
- Managing fonts, linked images, layers, artwork files and version control.
n
- Liaising with Slipstick staff, our designer, packaging suppliers and printers.
n
- Completing quality-control checks before artwork is released for production.
n
n
About you
n
You may be an experienced finished artist, production artwork specialist, packaging artwork designer or graphic designer with strong production and prepress capability.
n
The position may particularly suit an experienced designer returning to the workforce or seeking stable, flexible part time employment.
n
You will enjoy detailed, practical artwork and take pride in producing accurate files that are properly prepared for printing and production.
