The CRM & Marketing Automation Specialist is a hands‑on campaign delivery specialist responsible for building, executing, quality‑assuring and optimising sophisticated CRM communications for a major client. Working at the intersection of CRM, creative production, data and marketing technology, the role turns campaign briefs and customer data into accurate, personalised and scalable customer communications.
This is a highly client-facing role, with regular onsite collaboration embedded within the client team, and requires someone who is equally comfortable operating platforms, solving production challenges and partnering with senior stakeholders.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Build, schedule and deploy end-to-end CRM campaigns across email and other relevant owned channels.
- Translate campaign briefs, customer journeys and business rules into accurate platform builds, automated workflows and triggered communications.
- Manage audience segmentation, personalisation, dynamic content and campaign logic to ensure the right message reaches the right customer at the right time.
- Own campaign QA, testing, approvals and deployment checks, maintaining a high standard of accuracy and operational discipline.
- Support BAU, always‑on, lifecycle and high‑volume campaign delivery while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Build and manage modular, responsive email communications using Stensul, Taxi for Email or comparable email creation / content management platforms.
- Work confidently with templates, reusable modules, content blocks, brand guardrails and approval workflows to improve speed and consistency at scale.
- Partner with creative and content teams to translate design and copy into production‑ready CRM assets.
- Apply working knowledge of HTML/CSS for email to troubleshoot rendering, template and content issues where required.
- Operate confidently within enterprise CRM and marketing automation environments such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Campaign, Braze, HubSpot, Marketo or similar.
- Build and maintain audience segments, journey logic, triggers, data extensions/lists and campaign configurations.
- Work closely with data, technology and client teams to troubleshoot data, integration and deployment issues.
- Work closely with the client team onsite as an embedded CRM and campaign delivery partner, building trusted day‑to‑day relationships.
- Act as a knowledgeable point of contact for campaign feasibility, platform capability, production requirements and delivery timelines.
- Support A/B and multivariate testing across subject lines, content, creative, timing, segmentation and journeys.
Desired Skills and Experience
Experience & Skills
- 4+ years experience in CRM, lifecycle marketing, email marketing, campaign operations or marketing automation, ideally within an agency, enterprise or high-volume environment.
- Strong hands‑on experience building and deploying CRM campaigns and automated customer journeys.
- Demonstrated experience using Stensul, Taxi for Email or a comparable modular email creation / CMS platform is highly desirable.
- Hands‑on experience with at least one major CRM / marketing automation platform such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Campaign, Braze, HubSpot, Marketo or similar.
- Strong understanding of segmentation, personalisation, dynamic content, triggered communications and lifecycle marketing.
- Working knowledge of responsive email production and HTML/CSS; experience with Liquid, AMPscript or similar personalisation languages is advantageous.
- Experience with campaign QA, testing, deliverability principles, data hygiene and privacy/compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working directly with clients in an onsite / embedded environment.
- Hands‑on and technically curious – enjoys getting into the platform and making campaigns work.
- Client‑friendly and collaborative – comfortable working closely with client stakeholders and becoming part of their day‑to‑day team.
