Job Description
Your evenings back. A real admin team. 90 minutes of protected admin time, every single day. That's the practice we built - and we mean it literally.
n
We're Monica and Justin. We started Unbound Minds after years in practices that talked about work-life balance and delivered the opposite, so we built the one we wished we'd worked in. Here's what that actually looks like, day to day.
n
The honest bits first - because they're what you're actually wondering:
n
Days are yours.
n
Minimum two, up to five - we build the week around the right person. Rolling recruitment, so let's talk about what fits your life.
n
Flexibility that respects your time.
n
Client cancels? Don't warm a chair for two hours - go home, write your notes from the couch. Where it's appropriate, part of your week can be worked from home. Face-to-face therapy is anchored in-clinic, but your time is treated as yours.
n
Pay with no games.
n
Transparent bands - $130,000–$160,000 depending on registration level and experience - with clear, annual, guaranteed reviews. Everything substantial gets billed: reports, longer calls, case conferences.
n
What the work is actually like:
n
Protected time that's real.
n
50-minute sessions with note-taking built in, plus 90 minutes of protected admin every day. AI note-taking (clients consent at intake) so your evenings come back.
n
A dedicated, highly skilled admin team
n
runs booking, billing and scheduling. You do psychology, not paperwork.
n
Caseloads matched to your interests
n
strong in eating disorders, ADHD, trauma, assessments? We route you that work and hold off on what doesn't fit.
n
Supervision that isn't box-ticking
n
monthly group plus dedicated 1-on-1.
n
A real path forward
n
Reigstered/clinical psychologists thorugh to senior and stream-lead.
n
n
- $1,000 PD allowance
n
- up to $1,000 wellness allowance
n
- early long-service leave (3 years, not 10)
n
- salary packaging
n
n
You won't be out here on your own.
n
Every practice tracks utilisation. Most use it to push you harder. We use it the other way: when the team's capacity tightens, that's our signal to hire - not your signal to squeeze in another client. Your caseload fills from established referral demand, so you're never hustling to build a book from scratch, and it stays full at a level we're upfront about, not a level a spreadsheet decided for you. And you're not doing any of it alone - there's a room full of colleagues to debrief with when a session lands heavy. We built this system because we watched positive psychologists burn out in practices that ran it backwards. Not here.
n
Who we're after:
n
an AHPRA-registered psychologist who does thoughtful clinical work and wants to do it somewhere sane. Ideally 2+ years - earlier and good? Apply anyway. Heart, judgment and genuine care for clients matter more to us than a perfect CV.
