About the Role:

We're seeking experienced Locomotive Drivers to operate a recent short-haul port shuttle service between ITC Somerton Intermodal Terminal and the Port of Melbourne. This is a great opportunity to join a fixed roster on a high-frequency, short-distance freight run, working with 3000 and 6000 class locomotives.

What's On Offer:

- $90 per hour (casual rate)

- Fixed roster – 6 days per week
n
- Shifts of 8–12 hours per day
n
- Consistent, short-turnaround port shuttle work (not long-haul)
n
- Immediate start – we're looking to be operational within days

The Roster:

- Roster cycle
n
- 6-day operating week
n
- Regular, predictable shuttle runs between Somerton and the Port of Melbournen

About You:

n n




- Valid Locomotive Driver competency (VIC network experience preferred)
n
- Current Category 1 Rail Medical
n
- Experience or familiarity with 3000 and/or 6000 class locomotives highly regarded
n
- Robust understanding of Melbourne metropolitan rail network and port precinct operations
n
- Sound knowledge of safe working procedures, signalling, and shunting
n
- Ability to work a rotating roster including early starts, late finishes, and varied shift lengths
n
- Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work autonomously
n
