Empowered Recruitment is partnering with an established South East Queensland civil contractor delivering council and government infrastructure projects.

With initial projects located throughout the Ipswich region, they're looking for a proven Leading Hand who can take ownership of daily site activities while remaining hands-on alongside the crew.

The role

n

Working closely with the Site Supervisor, you'll be trusted to coordinate the crew and ensure daily works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Coordinating daily labour, plant, materials and subcontractors
n
- Running pre-starts and allocating work across the crew
n
- Reading plans,



checking levels and setting up daily activities
n
- Monitoring safety, quality and productivity
n
- Supporting the delivery of earthworks, drainage, pavements and general civil works
n
- Identifying site issues early and keeping the Supervisor informed
n
- Operating plant or assisting the crew when required
n
- Maintaining a productive and positive site environment
n

About you

n

You'll be an established Civil Leading Hand with the confidence to organise people, make practical decisions and lead from the front.

n

You'll ideally bring:

n

n
- Proven experience as a Leading Hand on civil construction projects
n
- Experience across roadworks, drainage, earthworks or council infrastructure
n
- The ability to coordinate crews and subcontractors effectively
n
- Confidence reading plans and working to levels
n
- Strong safety, quality and productivity standards
n
- A practical, hands-on leadership style
n
- A White Card and current driver's licence
n
- Relevant plant tickets or a Certificate III in Civil Construction will be highly regarded
n
