Job Description
As a Terminal Operator with Puma Energy (Australia) Bitumen Pty Ltd, you will play a vital role in the secure and efficient operation of our Townsville Bitumen Terminal.
n
This is a hands‐on operational role where you will be responsible for the receipt, storage and dispatch of bitumen products while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality and environmental compliance are maintained.
n
You will work as part of a small, close‐knit team on a rotating roster, including day, afternoon and night shifts. The successful applicant will also participate in an on‐call roster to support safe and reliable terminal operations when required.
n
What you're going to do
n
Safely loading and unloading bitumen products to and from road tankers.
n
Operating, monitoring and maintaining terminal equipment, including pumps, tanks, pipelines and associated infrastructure.
n
Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities.
n
Performing product quality checks and ensuring compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
n
Maintaining accurate operational records and documentation.
n
Responding to operational issues and assisting with troubleshooting where required.
n
Working in accordance with Puma's Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) standards.
n
Collaborating with colleagues and contractors to ensure efficient and reliable terminal operations.
n
Participating in a rotating shift roster, including day, afternoon and night shifts.
n
Participating in an on‐call roster and responding to operational requirements outside normal working hours when required.
n
Participating in emergency response activities and maintaining operational readiness.
n
What we're looking for
n
Experience in a terminal, manufacturing, process plant, transport,
mining, petroleum or other heavy industrial environment.
n
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate and maintain industrial equipment.
n
Commitment to safe work practices and compliance with established procedures.
n
Excellent problem‐solving and troubleshooting skills.
n
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
n
Ability to work effectively in a small team while also working independently.
n
Good written and verbal communication skills.
n
Current manual driver's licence.
n
Ability and willingness to work a rotating roster, including afternoon and night shifts.
n
Ability and willingness to participate in an on‐call roster.
n
High Risk Work Licences (Forklift, Dogging, Rigging or similar) will be highly regarded.
n
Experience working with hazardous chemicals or petroleum products will be advantageous.
