Job Description

We're looking for a mid to senior engineer to take ownership of a stack spanning a
n .NET/Azure backend, a private video streaming platform, and native iOS and macOS
n apps. The stack is expanding to include AI automation, and Android apps.

n

This is a broad, high-autonomy role. You'll design the systems, write the code,
n provision the infrastructure and keep it running in production. You'll set the
n technical direction rather than receive it, and you'll own the outcome end to end.

n

A typical day might involve an ASP.NET Core service, a Swift concurrency issue, an
n Azure RBAC policy and a Docker config — along with the judgement to know which of
n those actually needs your attention first.

n

What you'll be working on

n

n
- A private, members-only video streaming platform — ingest, transcoding, packaging, delivery and playback.
n
- Backend services and APIs on .NET and Azure.
n
- Native iOS applications with offline-first data and custom sync.
n
- Internal macOS tooling.
n
- Machine learning work over a large media library, including image and face search using vector embeddings.
n
- The infrastructure underneath all of it.
n

C# / .NET

n

- C# andASP.NETCore on .NET 8 / .NET 10 — MVC with Razor views, and REST APIs.

- Console applications and background services.

- Authentication and authorisation:ASP.NETCore Identity, JWT,



SAS tokens and managed identities.

- Entity Framework Core.
n
- Testing with xUnit.
n
- Image processing with ImageSharp.

Swift / iOS

n

n
- SwiftUI and UIKit.
n
- Swift concurrency (async/await, actors, structured concurrency).

- Background URL sessions and background processing.
n
- AVFoundation, including streaming playback.
n
- Local persistence with GRDB / SQLite.

Also required

Media

- Video processing and transcoding, with hands-on FFmpeg experience.

- HLS and DASH packaging.

- EXIF metadata extraction and processing.

Python, machine learning and AI

n

- Practical ML/AI experience in Python.
n
- OpenCLIP, OpenCV, DeepFace and PyTorch.
n
- Vector search using pgvector on PostgreSQL.
n

Data

n

- PostgreSQL, MySQL / MariaDB, SQL Server and SQLite.
n
- Comfortable designing schemas and tuning queries, not just consuming an ORM.
n

Platforms and tooling

n

- Docker.
n
- macOS as a development and deployment platform.
n
- NAS platforms and self-hosted infrastructure.
n
- WhatsApp Business API, self-hosted Teable and the Dropbox API are all a bonus.

About you

n

You've worked across the full stack and the full lifecycle, and you're
n comfortable being the person accountable for production.

n

You're at home with problems that aren't documented anywhere — obscure framework
n bugs, undocumented platform behaviour, unexpected interactions between systems.

n

A desire to never stop learning recent systems.
