Position Summary

n

Qualified candidate is knowledgeable of variety of mills and lathes used in aerospace industry to produce fasteners and hand tools. Requires 3-5 years of direct experience setting up and operating equipment, preferably in fastener production.

Perform turning, drilling, threading, and finishing operations in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications in production of both standard and custom parts.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

- Set up and operate machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders and milling machines to perform turning, knurling, drilling, tapping, reaming, counter-boring, and deep drilling operations.
n
- Cut and shape blocks to specified dimensions.
n
- Install and secure tooling, collets, tool holders, stops, and indexing mechanisms.
n
- Adjust tooling clearances, speeds, feeds, and timing to achieve required tolerances.
n
- Perform test runs to verify setup and make necessary corrections.
n
- Monitor machining processes and make adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
n
- Regulate cutting oil flow, remove chips, and maintain a clean and safe work area.
n
- Perform basic machine maintenance, including oil changes and routine upkeep.
n




- Diagnose machine malfunctions or setup issues and implement corrective actions.
n
- Work from blueprints, specifications, and work instructions to produce conforming parts.
n
- Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment.
n

- Inspecting finished dies and tools for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities.

- Conducting test runs with completed tools and dies.
n
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
n
- Solid shop math skills.
n
- Experience working to close tolerances.

- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills.
n
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
n
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
