About the Role:

We are partnering with a growing, $200m group to appoint a Senior Financial Accountant into a lean, well-regarded finance team.
Working closely with an experienced CFO, you will take ownership of the core financial accounting across a number of businesses and legal entities.
The remit is deliberately broad. You will be responsible for the integrity of the balance sheet, month-end reporting, statutory accounts, audit, compliance and controls, with significant analysis and business partnering with operational stakeholders.
The business has multiple entities and a high volume of work, creating an interesting layer of complexity around work in progress & revenue accounting.
There is a genuine intent for this role to grow with the business and progress towards a Financial Controller role.
About You:
You will be a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting fundamentals and the confidence to take genuine ownership of your work.
Ideally, you will bring:
- Strong financial accounting experience across month end, balance sheet, statutory reporting and audit
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets and detailed reporting files
- Experience within a multi-entity or operational business environment
- An inquisitive approach to accounting, with the confidence to question balances and investigate when something doesn't look right
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both finance and operational stakeholders
- A practical attitude and willingness to get involved across the broader finance function when required
- An interest in process improvement, systems and developing better ways of working
Experience within construction, civil, infrastructure, manufacturing, resources or another operational environment would be well regarded, although it is not essential.
