Job Description

Benning Blueberries requires a full time Crop Technician for immediate start. Main duties include:

n

n
- Perform work involved in seeding, cropping, propagation, fertilising, watering, spraying, pruning and cultivation of fruit plants and greenhouse crops
n
- Assist in the development and maintenance of experimental plots
n
- Perform greenhouse work; insect and other pest control, disease control, soil preparation and mixtures, potting and light and temperature control
n
- Perform techniques relative to propagation; grafting, budding and seedage
n
- Perform pollination, seed collection and other research procedures.
n
- Watch for and recognise damage caused to crop plants by insects and disease and take corrective action.
n
- Spray fertiliser or pesticide solutions to control insects,



fungi and weeds.
n
- Collect data and maintain records, as required, in the field and/or greenhouse
n

Your desired skills and knowledge will include:

n

n
- At least 1 year of relevant experience
n
- Relevant Diploma qualification or above
n
- Knowledge in soil, chemicals, pesticides and fungicides and the secure application and use of each;
n
- Knowledge and experience of agricultural production principles;
n
- Applicants must be physically fit, prepared to work in all outdoor conditions and be willing to learn all aspects of the position.

Must be available to work weekends. Salary offered is $75k to $85k
