About the Role

n

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Deputy CFO is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Group. You'll ensure robust financial reporting, compliance with all statutory and regulatory obligations, and deliver high-quality financial planning, forecasting, and analysis. This role is central to supporting strategic decision-making and driving operational efficiency across the business.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
n
- Prepare accurate management accounts and financial statements
n
- Maintain general ledger integrity and financial systems
n
- Support CFO with board reporting and presentations
n

Compliance & Regulatory

n
- Ensure compliance with GST, PAYG, FBT, income tax, and other obligations
n
- Manage ASIC and Corporations Act requirements
n
- Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and regulators
n

Planning, Forecasting & Analysis

n
- Lead annual budgeting and periodic reforecasts
n




- Deliver insightful variance analysis and performance recommendations
n
- Identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities
n
- Manage and mentor a small finance team
n
- Foster a high-performance culture with ongoing development
n
- Allocate tasks and monitor team deliverables
n

Process Improvement

n
- Champion automation and system enhancements
n
- Implement best practices in finance operations and internal controls
n

What You'll Bring

n
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
n
- CPA or CA qualification (mandatory)
n
- Minimum 15 years' experience in financial management, ideally in insurance or regulated industries
n
- Solid technical knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax legislation
n
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills
n
- Advanced proficiency in financial systems (Excel, Xero, MYOB, or similar ERP)
n
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach
