Maintenance Carpenter – $65/hr - Immediate Start

Minumbra has developed and owned high-quality remote mining accommodation throughout Northern Australia and prides itself on providing industry-leading technologies, ideas and efficiencies across each village and community.

We employ a skilled in-house trade team responsible for the management, maintenance and operation of our accommodation villages and housing assets.

n

Due to an increase in maintenance works, we are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our Facilities Maintenance team on a contract basis.

n

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for consistent work, a varied workload and the opportunity to work across a large property portfolio.

THE ROLE:

n

This is a minimum 3-month contract, with the opportunity for ongoing work for the right person. Applicants must be either locally based in the Blackwater region or able to work on a Drive-In Drive-Out (DIDO) basis. FIFO arrangements are not available for this position.

n

You'll work across a diverse range of maintenance and minor project works including:

n

- General building maintenance
n
- Repairs to residential housing
n
- Maintenance within accommodation villages
n
- Door, window and lock repairs
n
- Flooring, skirting and cabinetry repairs
n
- Fence and gate repairs
n
- Minor renovations and refurbishment works
n
- Insurance and damage repairs
n
- Assisting other trades where required
n
- Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment
n

No two days are the same, and you'll enjoy working across a broad range of assets rather than being confined to one site.

n

About You

n

To be successful you will have:

n

Current QLD manual driver's license with reliable transport;

n





Supervisory competency qualifications, S1, S2, S3 and G2 — preferred but not essential;

n

Current Coal Board Medical;

n

Current LVR / CPR within the last 12 months;

n

Working at Heights ticket;

n

Construction White Card — essential;

n

Ability to pass a pre-employment functional assessment and drug and alcohol screen;

n

Own tools suitable for general maintenance work

n

ABN and appropriate insurances

n

Ability to pass an Australian Police Check;

n

Flexible approach and positive attitude towards customers;

n

Commitment to performing all work in accordance with site health, safety, environmental and community policies, systems and procedures; and

n

Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.

n

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

n

Strong problem-solving skills

n

High attention to detail

n

Basic computer skills for completing work orders

n

What We Offer

n

Minimum 3 months guaranteed work

n

$65 per hour + GST (depending on experience)

n

Accommodation and meals provided whilst on site;

n

Approximately 38–50 hours per week (5/2) or 7/7 roster;

n

Ideally suit local candidate in the Blackwater/ Emerald area with the ability to DIDO;
