The Opportunity

n

We are seeking a delivery-focused Database Engineer with 3-5+ years of experience to join our team in Sydney. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, migrating, and supporting database solutions for major enterprise transformations.

n

You will work within collaborative, Agile project teams leveraging modern tools, automation, and AI-assisted ways of working to streamline delivery.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Deliver Database Solutions: Design, build, configure, migrate,



and support SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and/or MongoDB platforms across on-premises and cloud environments.
n
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner closely with application developers, cloud architects, infrastructure teams, security, and project managers across the full delivery lifecycle.
n
- Modernisation & Migrations: Participate in enterprise cloud migrations, platform upgrades, database transformations, and performance tuning.
n
- DevOps & Automation: Support CI/CD pipelines, source control (Git), scripting (PowerShell/Python/Bash), and automation frameworks to optimize delivery.
n
- Agile & Service Delivery: Manage project deliverables using Jira and ServiceNow for sprint planning, incident management, and release tracking.
n
- Implementation Support: Provide planned out-of-hours or weekend implementation support during critical production deployments and milestone releases.
n

What We Are Looking For

n

n
- Experience: 3-5+ years of hands‐on experience in Database Engineering, DBA, or Infrastructure Project Delivery.
n
- Core Technical Skills: Strong capability across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
n
- Cloud & DevOps Awareness: Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS), database migrations, scripting, and basic CI/CD pipeline concepts.
n
- Innovative Mindset: A strong curiosity for technology, automation, and using AI-assisted tools (e.g., Copilot) to improve delivery outcomes.
n
- Stakeholder & Agile Skills: Clear communication, strong problem‐solving skills, and comfort working in fast‐paced Agile environments.
n
- Flexibility: Willingness to support planned after-hours implementation windows when required by major project milestones.
