About the Role

n

As a Head Spa Therapist, you'll deliver relaxing treatments including scalp massage, shampooing, hair-drying and consultations to help clients reduce stress and improve scalp and hair health.

Rate of Pay:

$76,500 - $85,000 (depending on experience) full time annual salary

Tips and monthly rebook incentives.

Hours:

n

Full-time only with guaranteed hours.

n

We are open 8am - 10pm, 7 days a week and offer morning and evening shifts. (please note most positions require a mix of morning and evening shifts)

Key tasks and responsibilities

n

Perform consistent,



high-quality head spa treatments in strict adherence to the Tokyo Headspa methodology.

n

Ensure a customer consultation form is completed, read and discussed before any treatment commences.

n

Customise treatments based on each client's scalp, hair condition, and relaxation needs.

n

Provide warm and professional client interactions throughout the experience.

n

Clearly communicate treatment steps, product benefits, and aftercare.

n

Offer all customers the chance to purchase products used during the treatment.

n

Support studio maintenance, including treatment room setup, hygiene, equipment care, and laundry.

n

Massage the soft tissues of the body, such as muscles to assist healing.

n

Utilise remedial, relaxation and Japanese shiatsu techniques to release tension

n

Administer treatments to promote relaxation, improve circulation and relieve muscle tension.

n

Employ other techniques, such as acupressure or Shiatsu, and complementary aids, essential oils and herbal and mineral therapies, to assist recovery.

n

Assess the client's physical condition and case history and advise on stretching exercises and relaxation techniques.

n





Perform relaxation massage and administer body treatments for relaxation and health.

n

Provide advice on hair care and hair products.

n

Shampoo hair and condition scalp.

n

Clean work areas and sanitise instruments.

n

Arrange appointments and collect payments.

Skills and experience required:

n

Completed training program in head spa therapy of at least 100 hours.

n

Certificate 4 in Hairdressing.

n

In salon experience of at least 2 years in delivering head spa treatments to customers.

n

A genuine interest in hair and scalp health, relaxation therapies, and holistic wellness.

n

Professional grooming and presentation, with strong communication and customer service skills.

n

The physical capacity for 6–8-hour shifts.

n

A willingness to learn and embrace Japanese wellness culture.
