Job Connect is currently seeking both Mechanical Fitters and Boilermakers/Welders to join the maintenance team of a well-established national company based in the Beenleigh / Yatala area.

These are long-term opportunities working Monday to Friday on afternoon shift, with regular overtime available and genuine career progression for the right people.

About the role

n

Working within a large industrial maintenance team, you'll perform preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and upgrades on heavy fixed plant equipment including:

n

n
- Crushers
n
- Screening equipment
n
- Associated fixed plant machinery
n

n

This is a wide-ranging, hands-on role where no two days are the same and you'll be working alongside experienced tradespeople in a well-supported environment.

n

Mechanical Fitters

n





As a Mechanical Fitter your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Preventative maintenance
n
- Fault finding and breakdown repairs
n
- Replacing bearings, rollers, shafts and mechanical components
n
- Fixed plant servicing and repairs
n
- Basic stick welding as part of maintenance repairs
n

n

Boilermakers / Fabricators

n

As a Boilermaker your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Fabrication and repair of fixed plant components
n
- Maintenance welding
n
- SMAW (Stick) welding
n
- Repairs to crushers, screens and conveyor systems
n

n

To be successful you will have:

n

n
- Trade qualification as either a Mechanical Fitter or Boilermaker
n
- Current Driver Licence
n
- Working at Heights and Confined Space (or willingness to obtain within your first week)
n
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical
n
- Competency in stick welding (SMAW) as this forms part of the repair process
n

n

Experience in heavy industry, manufacturing, mining, quarries, recycling, cement, concrete or fixed plant maintenance will be highly regarded, however candidates from other industrial maintenance backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
