Due to continued growth, an prospect has become available for a Quality Assurance Inspector to join the manufacturing team and support quality outcomes across incoming materials, production processes and finished products.

The Opportunity
n
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Assurance Inspector will play a key role in ensuring mechanical components, materials and manufactured products meet required specifications, compliance requirements and customer expectations.
n
This role is ideal for someone with a background in mechanical inspection, manufacturing, automotive, engineering or precision components, looking to develop within a quality-focused medical device workplace.
n
This is a 6 month contract role offering great insight to a leading manufacturer of medical apparatus.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
Incoming Quality Inspection (IQC)
n
n
- Inspect incoming mechanical components and materials against engineering specifications
n
- Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment including:n n
- Verniers
n
- Calipers
n
- Micrometers
n
- Other manual measurement tools
n
n
- Identify defects, variations and non-conforming materials
n
- Verify supplier components meet drawings, specifications and quality requirements
n
n
Quality Control & Compliance
n
n
- Conduct inspections throughout manufacturing processes
n
- Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and support corrective actions
n
- Document inspection findings accurately within ERP systems
n
- Manage product return assessments and RMA processes
n
- Maintain quality records, inspection documentation and reporting
n
n
Technical Support
n
n
- Read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings and specifications
n
- Support production teams with quality-related requirements
n
- Work closely with Manufacturing and Purchasing teams to prioritise inspections
n
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and process improvements
n
n
About You
n
n
- Experience within quality inspection, manufacturing, mechanical assembly or engineering environments
n
- Strong understanding of mechanical components and production processes
n
- Ability to confidently use precision measurement tools
n
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
n
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality outcomes
n
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
n
n
Desirable Experience
n
n
- Certificate IV in Engineering or relevant technical qualification
n
- Experience within:n n
- Medical device manufacturing
n
- Automotive manufacturing
n
- Mechanical assembly
n
- Precision engineering
n
- Fabrication or machining environments
n
n
- ERP experience (JDE, Oracle, SAP or similar)
n
- Understanding of ISO quality systems (ISO 9001 / ISO 13485)
n
