REFOCUS is seeking a Child Case Coordinator - Delegated Authority to join our team and support culturally safe, family-led planning for children and families.
n
This role sits within REFOCUS's Delegated Authority framework and works in close partnership with Child Safety, families, communities, cultural connection, and family participation.
n
This position does not hold statutory case management responsibility. Statutory case management remains with the Child Safety Officer.

About the role
n
As a Child Case Coordinator - Delegated Authority, you will:
n
n
- Coordinate culturally safe, family-led planning processes
n
- Work alongside families, children, carers, and community supports
n
- Monitor and review reunification, family time, safety, and support plans
n
- Prepare evidence-informed recommendations for delegated decisions
n
- Support strong governance through clear documentation and approval pathways
n
- Work in close partnership with Child Safety Officers, Team Leaders, and management
n
n
You will not authorise decisions. All authorising powers sit with the REFOCUS Chief Executive Officer. Strong communication, role clarity, and respect for governance processes are essential to this role.
n
Pay and conditions
n
Hourly pay rates range from:
n
Level 1 PPT1 $35.93 per hour, up to Level 4 PPT 5 $52.60 per hour
n
Classification level and pay rate are assessed and determined based on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated capability.
n

- Has a solid commitment to child safety and family-led practice
n
- Understands, or is willing to learn, Delegated Authority practice
n
- Can build respectful partnerships with families, communities, and Child Safety
n
- Is organised, reflective, and confident with documentation and review processes
n
- Values cultural safety, collaboration, and accountability
n
n
Qualifications and experience
n
n
- Relevant qualification in human services, social work, community services, or a related field, or working towards
n
- Experience in child protection, family support, or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community services is desirable
n
- Willingness to undertake intensive training in child safety legislation, policies, and procedures
n
n
Training and support
n
Entry-level practitioners will receive intensive training in child safety legislation, policies, procedures, and Delegated Authority practice. Ongoing supervision, mentoring, and professional development are core to this role.

- Current Working with Children Check
n
- Criminal history check
n
- Ability to meet REFOCUS compliance and reporting requirements
n
- Current Drivers Licence (minimum green P's)
n
- Ability to work within the 10 Child Safe Standards
