About the Role
n
Reporting directly to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of our workshop, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
n
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact. You'll work closely with management to improve workshop performance, develop your team, and help shape the future of a growing business.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Supervise and coordinate daily workshop operations.
n
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of boilermakers, apprentices, and trade assistants.
n
- Plan and manage workflow to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
n
- Allocate labour and resources to maximise productivity and efficiency.
n
- Monitor work quality and ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and company procedures.
n
- Conduct quality inspections throughout fabrication and repair activities.
n
- Identify and resolve technical and production issues.
n
- Maintain a robust safety culture and ensure compliance with WHS legislation and company policies.
n
- Liaise with management regarding project progress, resource requirements, and potential delays.
n
- Monitor team performance while providing coaching, mentoring,
and ongoing development.

About You
n
n
- Previous experience as a Workshop Supervisor, Leading Hand, or in a similar leadership role.
n
- Trade qualification in Engineering Fabrication, Boilermaking, Mechanical Fitting, or a related discipline.
n
- Extensive experience in heavy fabrication and welding within the mining or heavy engineering industry.
n
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
n
- Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
n
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities.
n
- A proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement.
n
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
n
- A minimum of five years' experience in a similar trade or supervisory role.
n
