About Chadwick Switchboards
n
Chadwick Switchboards is an established Australian manufacturer of custom low-voltage electrical switchboards.
n
We work with electrical contractors, consultants, builders and project customers to deliver engineered switchboard solutions across commercial, industrial, infrastructure and major-project environments.
n
We are now seeking an experienced electrical-project sales leader to own our key customer relationships and drive profitable, sustainable growth.
n
The Role
n
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead our sales team while personally managing your own portfolio of key accounts and major project opportunities.
n
Estimating and pricing are part of the sales process you own — you'll work closely with our estimators on quotations, but you carry commercial responsibility for the pricing, margin and risk on your deals. This is a hands‐on, customer‐facing leadership role — not a purely administrative or desk‐based management role.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
- Personally leading and managing a portfolio of key customers and major project opportunities, from first contact through to handover
n
- Leading, coaching and holding accountable the wider sales team
n
- Owning pricing, margin and commercial risk decisions on your own quotations and tenders
n
- Developing recent relationships with electrical contractors, consultants, builders and other project stakeholders
n
- Working closely with Estimating to set priorities and improve quotation turnaround times
n
- Developing bid strategies for complex or commercially significant opportunities
n
- Improving pipeline management, CRM discipline, forecasting, quotation follow‐up and conversion
n
- Negotiating commercial outcomes while protecting margin and managing risk
n
- Coordinating disciplined handovers from Sales to Engineering, Project Management and Production
n
- Delivering agreed sales‐order, invoiced‐revenue, gross‐margin and customer‐activity targets
n
n
What Success Will Look Like
n
During your first 12 months, you will have:
n
n
- Built and be personally managing a strong portfolio of key accounts
n
- Established a reliable, qualified sales pipeline and forecast
n
- Improved quotation turnaround, follow‐up and conversion
n
- Strengthened pricing, margin and tender‐risk discipline on your own deals
n
- Deepened relationships with existing strategic customers
n
- Increased engagement with electrical contractors, consultants and project customers
n
- Improved coordination between Sales, Estimating, Engineering, Projects and Production
n
n
Essential Experience
n
To be considered, you must demonstrate:
n
n
- At least seven years' experience in technical, project‐based or engineered‐solution sales
n
- Relevant experience in electrical switchboards, switchgear, low‐voltage power distribution, electrical contracting, industrial electrical systems or commercial electrical projects
n
- A proven record of personally owning and growing key accounts
n
- A proven record of personally leading and winning complex,
high‐value project opportunities
n
- The ability to read and understand electrical drawings, specifications, scopes and single‐line diagrams, and to price from them
n
- Experience owning pricing, margins, tender risks, qualifications and exclusions on your own opportunities
n
- Experience leading or mentoring a sales team
n
- Strong commercial negotiation and customer‐management capability
n
- Disciplined experience with CRM systems, pipelines, forecasts and quotation follow‐up
n
- A hands‐on, accountable and results‐focused style
n
- Unrestricted permanent working rights in Australia
n
- A current Australian driver licence
n
n
Applications without relevant electrical‐project or closely related technical‐sales experience are unlikely to be progressed.
n
Highly Regarded
n
n
- Direct experience in electrical switchboard manufacturing or estimating
n
- Existing relationships with electrical contractors, consultants, builders, wholesalers or major project customers
n
- An electrical trade, engineering or other relevant technical qualification
n
- Experience selling into data‐centre, infrastructure, commercial‐construction or industrial projects
n
n
Why Join Chadwick?
n
n
- Own and grow a portfolio of key accounts for a respected Australian manufacturer
n
- Join a business with more than 80 years of history and established customer relationships
n
- Sell engineered, high‐value electrical solutions rather than commodity products
n
- Work directly with the COO and influence commercial strategy and business growth
n
- Have genuine involvement in major bids, pricing, customer strategy and operational improvement
n
- Receive a competitive base salary, superannuation, car allowance and performance‐based incentive
n
n
Location and Work Arrangements
n
This is primarily a customer‐facing role based at our Smithfield facility.
n
Regular customer meetings across metropolitan Sydney will be required.
