REFOCUS is seeking a Child & Family Wellbeing Practitioner to join our team and support culturally secure, family-led planning for children and families.
n
This role focuses on assessment, direct family support, and delivering programs that strengthen parenting capacity and improve outcomes for children, young people, and families.
n
About the role
n
As a Child & Family Wellbeing Practitioner, you will:
n
n
- Provide supervision and assessment of family contact sessions in line with court directions
n
- Assess parent-child interactions and ensure child safety at all times
n
- Prepare clear, accurate, and evidence-informed reports
n
- Deliver parenting programs and interventions (e.g. Triple P, Circle of Security, DFV programs)
n
- Support young people transitioning to adulthood and developing independent living skills
n
- Work directly with families to build parenting capacity and daily living skills
n
- Deliver one-to-one and group-based support sessions
n
- Provide education on child development, attachment, and impacts of DFV/substance use
n
- Link families with appropriate community supports, services, and opportunities
n
- Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families, and carers
n
- Maintain accurate documentation and case records in line with REFOCUS standards
n
n
Pay and conditions
n
Hourly pay rates range from $35 to $52 per hour (SCHADS Award MA000100)
n
Classification level and pay rate are assessed based on qualifications, experience, and capability
n
What we're looking for
n
n
- Strong commitment to child safety and family-led practice
n
- Ability to engage and build trust with children, families, and carers
n
- Experience delivering or supporting parenting programs or family interventions
n
- Confidence in assessment, observation, and report writing
n
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage varied service environments
n
- Commitment to culturally safe and trauma-informed practice
n
n
Qualifications and experience
n
n
- Relevant qualification in Community Services, Social Work, or related field (or working towards)
n
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience or equivalent capability
n
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families is highly desirable
n
- Experience in family support, child wellbeing, or program facilitation is desirable
n
n

- Current Working with Children Check
n
- Criminal history check
n
- Ability to meet REFOCUS compliance and reporting requirements
n
- Current Drivers Licence (minimum green P's)
n
- Ability to work within the 10 Child Safe Standards
