The Chance

Fyfe is seeking an experienced Team Lead – Secondary & Protection to join our growing Energy team to be based in either Sydney or Melbourne. This is a senior leadership and technical authoritativerole suited to a highly capable secondary systems and protection engineer who is people focussed, fostering a collaborative team, drivingtechnical delivery and cancontribute to the continued growth of our power sectorcapability across Australia.

What You'll Do

n

- Lead and mentor a team of secondary and protection engineers, supporting capability, engagement and professional development.
n
- Oversee delivery of secondary and protection engineering projects across HV substation and power infrastructure works.
n
- Provide technical leadership across protection relay settings, secondary schematic design, SCADA/RTU integration, substation automation and IEC 61850 interfaces.
n
- Manage team resourcing, utilisation and forecasting in collaboration with project managers, finance and operational stakeholders.
n
- Prepare and review proposals,



scopes and cost estimates for secondary and protection services.

- Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships across utilities, network service providers, contractors and project partners.
n
- Drive quality, governance and technical standards to ensure project outputs meet Fyfe, client and regulatory requirements.

What You Bring

n

n
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.Chartered Professional Engineer status is preferred, or a willingness to work toward chartership.
n
- 7-8 years of experience in secondary and protection engineering with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership rolein HV substation and power infrastructure with working knowledge of protection relay platforms and protection philosophy development across transmission and distribution applications.
n
- Substantial experience managing complex projects, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workloads and meet deadlines.
n
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and develop engineers within a project delivery environment.
n
- Strong commercial awareness, including budget, resource, utilisation and project performance management.
n
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients, technical teams and senior stakeholders.
