About the Role
n
The AI Services Consultant is the consulting preâsales partner within each regional AI POD, working alongside an AI Solutions Executive and AI Solutions Architect. This role uncovers client business needs, positions consulting services engagements across all AI GTM categories, and conducts initial discovery and qualification â then partners closely with Services Delivery Solution Architects (SSAs) on shaping and solutioning. The role is critical because AI infrastructure investment decisions are closely linked to the services that unlock AI's business value while managing risk: AI initiatives are increasingly gated by the customer's ability to prove value through use cases, demonstrate data readiness, and operationalize AI workloads. The AI Services Consultant positions services engagements that remove these gates and accelerate the customer's path from exploration to production,
including workforce AI and AI Native Engineering (coding assistant) services â a highâgrowth, highâattach consulting opportunity. The role builds trustedâadvisor relationships with IT and business leaders, is accountable for building and managing a healthy services pipeline, and advances deals through complex sales cycles.
n
What You'll Do
n
n
- Position and conduct initial discovery to scope consulting services engagements across all AI GTM categories: AI Factory, AI Foundations, Workforce AI, and AI Native Engineering
n
- Sell service motions including AI security, data readiness & governance, useâcase acceleration, ATCâhosted AI lab services, operational acceleration programs, AI Factories (design, build, operate), workforce adoption & innovation, and coding assistants
n
- Operate as an integrated member of the threeâperson regional POD â weekly cadence, joint pipeline reviews, and account planning â and partner with the AI Solutions Executive to attach consulting services to every AI opportunity
n
- Collaborate with the AI Solutions Architect and SSAs to define the right entryâpoint services (assessments, workshops, roadmaps, pilots) and sequence multiâphase programs that expand over time
n
- Develop business case models, TCO analyses, and consumption forecasting that justify GPU/compute infrastructure investment tied to measurable business outcomes
n
- Design ATC lab services engagements for proofâofâconcept, performance benchmarking, and reference architecture validation that deârisk AI Factory decisions
n
- Position and scope developer productivity assessments, coding assistant vendor evaluations, pilot programs, adoption/ROI measurement, and security/governance frameworks for AIâgenerated code â staying current on Microsoft 365 Copilot, GitHub Copilot, ServiceNow AI agents, Google Gemini, and emerging platforms (Anthropic, Cognition, Cursor)
n
- Structure multiâphase AI transformation programs with programâlevel roadmaps aligning business outcomes, technical milestones, and organizational readiness; coâdevelop governance and operating models with SSAs
n
- Maintain continuity between preâsales and early delivery â ensuring alignment between proposed solutions, delivery approach, and expected outcomes â and contribute reusable service frameworks, playbooks, and accelerators
n
- Embed with regional field sales teams as a trusted AI subject matter resource; present consulting methodology and value proposition in competitive evaluations; build recent pipeline off the success of each delivered engagement
n
n
Required Qualifications
n
n
- Demonstrated multiâyear track record personally originating and closing complex services deals ($1M+ TCV, 6â12âmonth sales cycles, across multiple stakeholders)
n
- 10+ years in technology consulting, services sales, or practice management at a solutions provider, consultancy, or systems integrator
n
- Demonstrated executive presence and credibility with Câsuite and senior IT and business leaders (CxO)
n
- Proven ability to lead strategic conversations about AI ambition, business outcomes, and investment tradeâoffs â not just technical capabilities
n
- Direct experience scoping and selling data, AI, analytics, or cloud consulting engagements, with command of services economics: deal shapes, market pricing, and margin dynamics
n
- Practical knowledge of enterprise AI use cases at the engagement level â able to define workshops, data readiness assessments, and operational acceleration programs with specific activities and deliverables
n
- Understanding of the coding assistant (AI Native Engineering) and workforce AI landscape; able to scope developer productivity assessments, pilots, adoption services, and ROI engagements
n
- Working knowledge of data engineering, governance, cloud data platforms, data foundations, and security solutions required for enterprise AI
n
- Comfortable developing service proposals during the sales cycle and presenting methodology in competitive evaluations
n
- Experience collaborating across sales, architecture, and delivery organizations to ensure scope fidelity and clean handoffs
n
- Bachelor's degree required
n
n
Preferred Qualifications
n
n
- Prior experience at a consulting firm (Accenture, Deloitte, McKinsey, Slalom, IBM Consulting) in a clientâfacing, services sales, services delivery, or practice development role
n
- Familiarity with WWT's Advanced Technology Center and labâled consulting models
n
- Experience designing engagements that leverage lab/PoC environments for customer validation
n
- Prior delivery management experience in addition to services sales/scoping
n
- SAFe Certified Agile SA qualification and prior sales experience
n
- Master's or advanced degree in technology, analytics, or business
n
n
Key Competencies
n
n
- Consultative Selling: Uncovers business needs and supports shaping outcomeâfocused services solutions that address client priorities and measurable results.
n
- AI UseâCase Translator: Converts abstract AI ambitions into concrete, funded project plans with specific activities, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
n
- Workforce AI Fluency: Understands the coding assistant (AI Native Engineering) and endâuser AI landscape deeply enough to scope assessments, pilots, and adoption programs with credibility.
n
- Transformation Program Structuring: Structures AI engagements as multiâphase programs aligned to longâterm business outcomes rather than oneâtime consulting efforts.
n
- Commercial Instinct: Operates in the space between sales and solutioning. Understands that service proposals must advance deals, not just describe methodology.
n
- PreâSales to Delivery Continuity: Ensures alignment between sold scope and delivery execution, maintaining consistency in expectations, approach, and outcomes.
n
- Collaborative Teammate: Thrives in a teamâselling environment. Earns the trust of field account teams by adding clear value, respecting relationship ownership, and consistently following through on commitments.
n
- Continuous Learner: Stays current on AI use cases, workforce AI tools, and consulting methodologies.
n
- Stays current on services offers and contributes to improved offerings, messaging, and plays.
