Role
n
As the Work Health & Safety Specialist, you will be the organisation's subject matter expert, providing strategic and operational WHS advice across the business. Working closely with leaders and the People & Culture team, you'll drive safety initiatives, ensure legislative compliance, and foster a proactive safety culture across the organisation.
n Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Provide expert advice and guidance on Work Health & Safety legislation, policies, and best practice.
n
- Partner with leaders to identify, assess, and mitigate workplace risks while promoting a positive safety culture.
n
- Lead workplace incident investigations,
hazard management, and corrective action planning.
n
- Oversee workers compensation and return-to-work processes, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
n
- Review, develop, and implement WHS policies, procedures, and safety frameworks to ensure legislative compliance.
n
- Deliver WHS training, education, and awareness initiatives to build organisational capability.
n
- Monitor WHS performance, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports to support continuous improvement.
n

About You
n
n
- Demonstrated experience in a dedicated Work Health & Safety role, ideally within a corporate, skilled services, association, or membership-based environment.
n
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and contemporary safety practices.
n
- Experience managing workplace incidents, risk assessments, workers compensation, and return-to-work programs.
n
- Proven ability to influence, coach, and build trusted relationships with leaders and key stakeholders.
n
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills, with a practical and proactive approach.
