Our buying team is the heartbeat of the business. We're a collaborative, passionate group who take pride in curating ranges that genuinely excite kids and parents alike. We're now looking for a talented Toy Buyer to join our team in Sydney.

THE OPPORTUNITY

n

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established specialty retailer at an exciting time. We're building a robust, focused buying team and this role offers clear scope, great mentorship and real commercial ownership from day one.

You'll be buying across toy categories, working with local Australian brands and distributors, and contributing to ranging decisions that directly affect our 58 stores and online channel.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

n

n
- Manage a portfolio of toy categories end-to-end — from range planning and supplier negotiation through to order placement and in-store execution
n
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local distributors and suppliers
n
- Contribute to seasonal range reviews, open-to-buy management and promotional planning
n
- Analyse sell-through data and use insights to make smart ranging and pricing decisions
n
- Work closely with the Head of Buying on product and range opportunities
n
- Collaborate with marketing, inventory and store teams to bring ranges to life
n




- Stay across market trends, competitor activity and trade show intel to keep our range fresh and competitive
n

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

n

n
- 3–5 years buying, assistant buying or category management experience in retail
n
- Experience across toys, hardgoods, gifts, homewares or general merchandise — toy experience highly regarded
n
- Strong commercial acumen — confident negotiating, reading data and making range calls
n
- Solid understanding of retail buying fundamentals: OTB, margin, sell-through, supplier terms
n
- Excellent supplier relationship and communication skills
n
- Highly organised, deadline-driven and comfortable managing multiple categories simultaneously
n
- A genuine love of product — you get excited about what goes on the shelf
n
- Experience with product compliance regulations for children's products (Australian standards, safety certifications)
n
- Familiarity with children's products, educational toys or specialty retail
n
- Exposure to product development or packaging processes
n
- Experience with buying systems or ERP platforms — we use Business Central and Phocas
n
