Job Description
Our client is a local competitor with a strong presence in their market! They are seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to join a dynamic team during a critical phase of transformation and growth on a permanent basis. This is a role for an experienced senior-level payroll specialist, with a drive improvement and efficiency to a humming function!

About the Role
n
You will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of a complex, multi-state payroll. You will be tasked with providing SME-level guidance and full end-to-end processing capability to ensure continuity and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Managing end-to-end payroll processing for approx 2,500 headcount, across 5 states and two distinct payroll runs.
n
- Navigating payroll-related higher duties, in processing for legislative reporting.
n
- Ensuring data integrity across a diverse workforce of permanent and contingent staff.
n
- Assisting in a high-level payroll health check and compliance audit to ensure the function is "future-ready."
n
- Accurately calculating complex final entitlements and settlement figures, ensuring strict associated regulatory and tax compliance.
n

About You
n
n
- Proven experience as a Senior Payroll Officer or Payroll SME in a high-volume environment.
n
- Strong technical proficiency in FoundU or similar modern payroll platforms.
n
- Deep understanding of Australian payroll legislation, including Superannuation, PAYG, and multi-state requirements.
n
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to remain focused when working alongside reactive stakeholders.
n
- Available to work on-site during the initial training and induction period in Melbourne.
n
