About the Opportunity

You'll play a key role in delivering complex software capabilities across an enterprise Defence environment, leading engineering activities from solution design through to system integration, testing, and deployment.

n

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you'll help deliver innovative software solutions that support critical operational outcomes while mentoring engineers and driving engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

n

As the Software Engineer, you will:

n

- Lead the design, development, and integration of software solutions across complex ICT environments.
n
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior software engineers.
n
- Develop high-quality software aligned with architectural standards and system requirements.
n




- Support software integration across infrastructure, networking, and enterprise platforms.
n
- Lead verification, validation, testing, and defect resolution activities.
n
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive continuous improvement.
n
- Produce technical documentation and support transition into operational environments.
n
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project teams to deliver integrated solutions.
n

What We're Looking For

n

- Strong software engineering experience within complex enterprise ICT environments.
n
- Expertise in Java, Python, C++, or similar programming languages.
n
- Experience leading development teams or mentoring engineers.
n
- Robust understanding of the complete software development lifecycle.
n
- Experience with systems integration, verification, and validation.
n
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
n

Highly Regarded

- Defence or National Security programs.
n
- Geospatial or distributed software systems.
n
- DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, or containerised environments.
n
- Secure or highly regulated ICT environments.
n
