Lifestyle Officer - TRA Aged Care Facility

The Chance
n
We are looking for a Recreational Activities Officer to join our team at Thomas Rosetta Agst Aged Care Facility, Wahroonga. We have a permanent part-time opportunity available that includes being available for weekend work. You will make a difference to our residents by facilitating positive health and wellbeing options for individuals, their families, and carers.
n
As the Recreational Activities Officer, you will drive the energy, engagement, and participation of residents into a range of social, recreational, and cultural activities. You will also lead mental health and wellbeing programs which empower our resident's choices and independence.
n
In fulfilling the role, it is essential that you have:
n
n
- The ability to plan, organise, and lead activities for our residents that will meet social and recreational needs while also promoting independence and increasing quality of life.
n
- The ability to assess and document the effectiveness of the programs, by tracking residents' progress and changing the programs as needed
n
- Minimum of a Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle
n
- Previous experience within an aged care setting
n
- Highly developed organisation and time management skills
n
- The ability to solve problems independently
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
- An understanding of Resident Rights,
Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes
n
- Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, internet/intranet skills, email communication, and confidence with smart phones and digital devices
n
- Knowledge of Work Health and Safety
n
n

The successful candidate is required to have completed/have a willingness to undertake the following:-

- Vaccinated in accordance with UPA's Immunisation and Vaccination Policy. (including proof of the required doses of a TGA approved COVID-19 vaccine and annual influenza)

- Undertake a National Criminal History Check

- Pre-Employment Medical Assessment
