Job Description
Occupational Therapy Assistant - Senior (Recreation)
n
Provide a adaptable and responsive service that meets client identified therapeutic and recreation goals under the delegation of Occupational Therapists.
n
The Role
n
An opportunity has become available for an Occupational Therapy Assistant – Senior (Recreation) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
n
You will
n
n
- Utilise advanced level clinical and recreational skills to perform a wide range intervention and clinical support activities.
n
- Ability to acquire high level knowledge and skills in effective behavioural support strategies.
n
- Identify and implement changes to the intervention and treatment programs.
n
- Ensure patients participate in purposeful occupations including self-care and social/recreational activities.
n
n
About you
n
To be successful in this position you will require:
n
n
- One of the following: Certificate IV Allied Health Assistant, Advanced certificate in Disability Studies, Certificate IV in Health and Community Services (Diversional Therapy) or equivalent or higher from a recognised tertiary institution.
n
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
n
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
n
- Driver Licence
n
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
n
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)
n

- Base salary ranging from $38.36 - $41.34 per hour
