Rumbalara Aboriginal Cooperative – Family, Care & Early Years

Team Leader Out of Home Care
n
Full-time, 38 hours a week
n
This is an Aboriginal Designated Position, classified under 'special measures' of Section 12 of the Equal Prospect Act 2010. Only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply.

About the Role
n
To manage a team of Foster Carer, Kinship First Support and Therapeutic Foster Care Workers delivering intensive case management programs and appropriate responses in a timely manner, for children and carers that are highly vulnerable. The program has statutory responsibility to respond to and manage the needs of children, their families and carers.
n
About You
n
To be successful for this position, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:
n
You are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
n
Minimum Diploma in Community Services with relevant experience in leadership/management role.
n
Ability to maintain a high standard of confidentiality and compliance.
n
Ability to lead and motivate program teams, set goals and monitor performance.
n
Proven planning, organisation, management & supervision skills, including experience in similar role.
n
A demonstrated knowledge of the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and culture and an understanding of factors that influence the health and wellbeing of young Aboriginal people.
n
Demonstrated assessment skills, the ability to manage referrals, liaise with providers and an ability to effectively apply case support practices.
n
An understanding of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005.
n
Ensure program compliance with the Department of Family, Fairness and Housing requirements for Home Base Care in Victoria.
n

Salary packaging of $15,900 available for Part- or Full-time employees.
