BACKGROUND & PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
n
The Inclusion Manager is responsible for strengthening inclusive participation across grassroots and community football, ensuring equitable access, belonging and participation outcomes for all.
n
The role leads the development and implementation of national inclusion frameworks and initiatives that support Member Federations, clubs and community stakeholders to deliver safe, inclusive and accessible football environments.
n
With a solid focus on priority cohorts including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, women and girls, people with disability and culturally and linguistically diverse communities, the role works within a federated model to remove barriers to participation and enhance the overall participant experience.
n
Role Responsibilities
n
n
- Develop and implement national inclusion frameworks, standards and best-practice approaches.
n
- Promote equitable participation opportunities for First Nations communities, women and girls, people with disability and multicultural communities.
n
- Embed accessibility, cultural inclusion, gender equity and safe participation principles across football programs and environments.
n
- Identify participation barriers and work with stakeholders to improve access, inclusion and participant experience.
n
- Provide practical tools, resources and guidance to support consistent adoption of inclusive practices.
n
- Collaborate across Football Australia and the broader football ecosystem to strengthen alignment and capability.
n
- Monitor participation and inclusion data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.
n
- Support reporting, evaluation and evidence-based decision-making.
n
- Champion a culture of inclusion, safety and participant-centred design.
n
- Act as Football Australia's subject matter expert on inclusion, leading initiatives and providing guidance across First Nations, women and girls, disability and multicultural participation.
n

Knowledge, Skills And Experience
n
The following requirements reflect the system design capability and stakeholder engagement required to embed inclusion and quality standards across a complex, federated football environment:

Essential
n
n
- Experience in inclusion, diversity, safeguarding or participation programs within sport, community or related sectors.
n
- Strong understanding of participant experience, access and retention.
n
- Experience developing frameworks, standards or improvement initiatives.
n
- Ability to work effectively across complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
n
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
n
- Experience using data and insights to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
n
n
Desirable
n
n
- Experience within football or community sport.
n
- Knowledge of contemporary inclusion, safeguarding and community engagement practices.
n
- Exposure to quality assurance, compliance or evaluation frameworks.
n
- Experience contributing to participation, inclusion or community development initiatives.
n

Qualifications
n
Essential
n
n
- Relevant tertiary qualification in sport management, community development, social policy, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
n
n
Desirable
n
n
- Advanced qualification in a relevant discipline.
n
- Formal training or accreditation in inclusion, diversity, safeguarding or community engagement.
n
- Professional development in evaluation, quality assurance or impact measurement
n
n
