Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) is one of Queensland's leading ports, supporting jobs, trade, and regional communities. We're now looking for motivated, safety-focused applicants to join our 2027 traineeship intake.
n
This is an identified position open to First Nations and Australian South Sea Islander applicants.
n
In this role, you'll work towards a Certificate II in Resources and Infrastructure Work Preparation while gaining hands-on experience across a range of operational areas.
n
About the Traineeship
n
This is a structured, two-year traineeship combining on-the-job training with formal study through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
n
You'll rotate through key areas including:
n
n
- Building Services
n
- Administration
n
- Warehouse
n
n
You'll be supported by supervisors, trainers, and the Mentor & Liaison Officer as you build practical skills and confidence.
n
What You'll Be Doing
n
As a trainee, you will support day-to-day operations by:
n
n
- Following your training plan and learning standard tasks and procedures
n
- Working safely and reporting any hazards or issues
n
- Carrying out tasks according to schedules and priorities
n
- Recording your work and activities using digital systems
n
- Completing regular daily, weekly, and monthly tasks with guidance from supervisors
n
- Assisting with environmental practices to help minimise impacts
n
- Interacting politely with community members when needed
n
- Keeping tools, equipment, and work areas clean and in good condition
n
n

n

Eligibility Criteria
n
Mandatory:
n
n
- This is an identified position and is open to First Nations or Australian South Sea Islander applicants
n
- Must be 18 years of age to hold a high risk work licence
n
- Current driver licence (minimum provisional licence held for at least 12 months)
n
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
n
- Demonstrated interest in practical work, maintenance, administration or warehousing
n
n
