Registered Nurse Mental Health - Private Outpatient TMS and Ketamine

Brain Save provides progressive and innovative mental health services to Newcastle and the Hunter Region.

Qualifications & experience

n

Registered Nurse.

n

Experience working with people in a Mental Health setting or similar and demonstration of a patient-centred approach and excellent interpersonal skills

n

Mental Health experience and a demonstrated interest working with mental health clients. This includes experience and appropriate sensitivity working with patients who are suffering anxiety, depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

n

Ability to work under supervision and collaborate with other healthcare professionals

n

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

n

Experience providing mentorship and support to junior staff (eg EN's and recently graduated clinicians)

n

TMS trained or willingness to learn how to administer TMS treatments and assume high-level responsibility

n

Demonstrated problem solving abilities

n

Current First Aid

n

Police Check and Working with Children Check

n

Tasks & responsibilities

n

Explain and administer prescribed TMS,



Ketamine and other treatments to patients suffering from mental health problems (Full training will be provided if required to successful applicants)

n

Administration and supervision of Ketamine treatment

n

Administration of outcome measures (psychological rating scales) to patients.

n

Appointment scheduling as required

n

Documentation of sessions as required

n

Monitor patients for medical symptoms (review patient's symptoms and results for each session)

n

Provide medical intervention in an emergency situation (expected to be a rare occurrence)

n

Implement established treatment protocols and office procedures and contribute to the same as appropriate for a new practice location.

n

Help develop and establish location specific policies and protocols.

n

Mentor and support junior staff.

n

Maintain a high degree of accuracy regarding all details of TMS administration.

n

Contribute to a positive work workplace.

n

Training in TMS administration and treatment protocols.

n

Esketamine and Ketamine administration training for nurses.

n

Ongoing professional development and the opportunity to be a part of a supportive clinical network.
