HMG is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist to join our high-performing workshop team. This hands‐on role suits a motivated tradesperson who takes pride in precision machining, quality workmanship, and continuous improvement.

About the Role

n

In this role, you will program, set, and operate CNC machine tools to manufacture high-quality components to specification.

n

This role is ideal for a tradesperson who thrives in a precision-focused, safety-conscious environment and enjoys working on varied and challenging projects.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Program, set up, and operate CNC machines using machine controls and CAM software
n
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications
n
- Carry out fitting, machining, and assembly work as required
n
- Edit and optimise programs to improve cycle times and product quality
n




- Conduct quality checks using precision measuring equipment
n
- Maintain machines, tooling, and a safe, clean work area
n
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, and team members
n

About You

n

n
- Trade qualification (Certificate III Engineering) as a Fitter Machinist / Toolmaker (or equivalent)
n
- Demonstrated experience as a CNC Programmer/Machinist
n
- Demonstrate CAM experience, MasterCam high desired.
n
- Hands‐on experience with FANUC, Okuma control systems
n
- Strong understanding of CNC programming, tooling, and cutting parameters
n
- Ability to work from detailed drawings and tight tolerances
n
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
n
- Strong problem‐solving skills and attention to detail
n
