As a Service Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining and repairing commercial HVAC across a diverse range of industries including commercial offices, schools, hospitality, healthcare and retail.

This is a hands‐on role suited to a motivated technician who enjoys fault finding, solving problems and delivering outstanding customer service. You will work both independently and as part of a supportive team while representing Cold Rae's professional reputation on every site.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
n
- Respond to reactive breakdowns and emergency call‐outs in a timely and professional manner.
n
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs on: Split systems, Ducted systems, VRV/VRF systems, Ventilation and exhaust systems.
n
- Accurately identify equipment issues and provide practical repair recommendations.
n
- Complete digital service reports, asset information and quotations using company software.
n
- Communicate professionally with clients and provide clear explanations of faults and recommended solutions.
n
- Identify additional repair or upgrade opportunities and communicate these to the Service Manager.
n
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping and presentation.
n
- Assist with the training and mentoring of apprentices and junior technicians.
n
- Ensure all work complies with Australian Standards, WHS legislation and Cold Rae procedures.
n
- Participate in the after‐hours on‐call roster when required.

What We're Looking For

n

n




- Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (or equivalent).
n
- Current Australian Driver Licence.
n
- Experience servicing commercial HVAC equipment.
n
- Strong fault‐finding and diagnostic skills.
n
- Ability to work independently and manage your daily schedule.
n
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
n
- High attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
n
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and continuously improve.
n
- Ability to mentor apprentices and contribute positively to the team.
n
- Experience with BMS controls.
n
- Experience with chillers and mechanical ventilation systems.
n
- EWP, Working at Heights.
n
- Experience using digital job management systems such as SafetyCulture or similar.
n
