A rare role for a strong writer who also enjoys the buzz of events - this is a genuinely varied position with a member-based, not-for-profit association, supporting both the Communications & Marketing Manager and the Events Manager.
n
You'll split your time between drafting compelling content and helping deliver a busy events calendar - five major conferences a year (200–400 delegates) plus around 40 webinars. The mix will flex with the calendar: heavier on comms in quieter periods, heavier on events when a conference is approaching. You'll need to be comfortable with that shift and confident prioritising your own workload without close supervision.
n
We're looking for an excellent writer - someone who can turn dry source material into clear, engaging copy without needing a heavy edit - who has also had some exposure to events and enjoys the variety that comes with supporting a busy conference and webinar program.
n
Communications & Marketing:
n
n
- Own the drafting of the weekly member newsletter
n
- Take ownership of day-to-day social media content and channels - planning, drafting and posting across platforms in a consistent brand voice
n
- Draft broader marketing and campaign copy - emails, event promotion, member communications.
n
- Help maintain a consistent tone and style across all external communication
n
n
Events:
n
n
- Support the Events Manager across five major conferences a year (200–400 delegates) and around 40 webinars
n
- Take ownership of running webinars end-to-end on the day
n
- Assist with speaker and delegate communications, delegate packs, and conference coordination admin.
n
- Bring structure and rigour to event administration and timelines
n
n
About you:
n
n
- 3–5 years' experience in a comms, marketing or events coordinator role
n
- An excellent writer with strong copywriting instincts.
n
- Some exposure to events is valued (hands-on coordination or a supporting role is fine - you don't need to have run events solo)
n
- Highly organised and self-directed; you're able to efficiently manage your own deadlines and workload
n
- Adaptable, comfortable moving between two areas of focus as priorities shift
n
- Confident working with minimal hand-holding in a small, fast-moving team
n

This is a solid opportunity for a writer who wants genuine variety - real ownership of content and channels, plus exposure to large-scale event delivery - within a supportive, purpose-driven organisation.
