Job Description

We're looking for an IT Assistant to join our team. This is an entry-level position, so you don't need years of experience, you need to be reliable, curious about technology, and valuable with people who aren't.

You'll be the first person our staff come to when something isn't working. You'll work closely with, and under the direction of, our Operational Manager, who will train and support you.

What you'll be doing

n

Being the first point of contact for staff IT questions and problems, logging them, fixing the straightforward ones, escalating the rest

n

Helping with laptops, mobile phones, printers, monitors and meeting-room equipment

n

Assisting with new starter setups, accounts, devices and access — and shutting access down when people leave

n

Carrying out routine tasks in Microsoft 365 as directed

n

Helping staff get the most out of SharePoint, Teams and our other business systems

n

Keeping the IT asset register up to date

n

Helping staff spot and report phishing emails, and reporting any security concerns straight away

n

Writing simple how-to guides so the same question doesn't come up twice

n

What we're looking for

n





A confident everyday user of Windows and Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)

n

A genuine interest in IT and a willingness to learn on the job

n

Clear, patient communication — you can explain things without jargon

n

Reliability and good judgement around confidential information

n

Someone comfortable asking for help and escalating rather than guessing

n

A satisfactory National Police Check

n

The right to work in Australia

n

Nice to have, but not essential

n

Certificate III or IV in Information Technology, or study underway

n

Any previous helpdesk, retail technology or IT support experience

n

Exposure to Entra ID or Intune

n

A current Queensland driver licence

n
