Mechanical Fitter - Heavy Vehicle Assembly

About the Role

n

We currently have multiple positions available for Mechanical Fittersbased in our Wacol, Queensland manufacturing facility. An immediate start with overtime available.

n

You will ideally be able to work with a team to assemble a range of products such as pressure vessels, walkways and ladders, chassis sub-frames, heavy vehicle modifications, transport equipment, and other associated equipment. On-the-job training will be provided.

Reporting to the Workshop Foreman your responsibilities include;

n

- Assembly of heavy vehicle components
n
- Pneumatic control system and hydraulics installation
n




- Commissioning and testing of completed equipment
n
- Work as part of a team to ensure projects are delivered on time to a high quality
n
- Complete quality checks as directed on completed equipment
n
- Assist in training/guidance of apprentices and trade-assistants
n

Preferred Skills and experience

n

n
- Competent in selection and use of fasteners to bolt-up assemblies
n
- Assembly of screwed and flange piping systems
n
- Routing and installation of pneumatic controls
n
- Trade Qualified (Certificate III)
n
- Supply of basic hand tools suitable for the task required
n
- Familiarity with heavy vehicle operation
n
- Basic welding ability in MIG & TIG processes
n
- Heavy vehicle license
n
- High Risk work license for Forklift
n
