Job Description

Arceye Engineering is a growing engineering and fabrication company specialising in heavy fabrication, machining, site maintenance, installations, shutdowns, hydraulic repairs and crane truck services.
n
We are looking for an experienced Workshop Manager who can take ownership of our workshop operations and help build the next stage of our business.
n
This is not a desk job. We are looking for a leader who enjoys being on the workshop floor, solving problems, supporting tradespeople and ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.
n
About the Role
n
Reporting directly to the Director, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of our workshop and workforce.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
n
- Leading and supervising all workshop personnel.
n
- Managing daily workflow, scheduling and labour allocation.
n
- Building and maintaining a skilled workforce to meet current and future workloads.
n
- Recruiting, onboarding, mentoring and, where required, managing employee performance and disciplinary matters.
n
- Working closely with our design and drafting team to ensure projects are delivered accurately and efficiently.
n
- Assisting with workshop layout, workflow improvements and continuous process optimisation.
n
- Developing, implementing and maintaining workshop policies, procedures and quality systems.
n
- Driving a strong safety culture while maintaining high productivity.
n
- Ensuring fabrication, machining and mechanical work is completed to a high standard and on schedule.
n
- Coordinating workshop resources, equipment and materials.
n
- Overseeing transport logistics and crane truck operations.
n
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and profitability.
n
- Maintaining a clean, organised and professional workshop.
n
n
About You
n
To be successful you will have:
n
n
- Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or in a senior workshop leadership position.
n
- Strong knowledge of fabrication and boilermaking welding processes and quality standards.
n
- Strong understanding of manual and CNC machining.
n
- Mechanical fitting experience or a solid mechanical aptitude.
n
- Experience managing transport logistics and crane truck operations.
n
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
n
- Experience implementing and maintaining workshop systems, procedures and processes.
n
- The ability to confidently communicate with engineers, designers, draftspeople, customers and tradespeople.
n
- Strong computer skills and experience using job management systems.
n
- A current driver's licence.
n
