About the Role:

n

We are currently seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team on a permanent part-time basis, working Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

n

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality, nutritious meals tailored to residents' dietary needs, including texture-modified meals and specialised therapeutic diets. Working closely with the kitchen and care teams, you will play a key role in ensuring residents receive safe, nutritious, and enjoyable meals while maintaining a clean, compliant, and effective kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

n

Prepare and cook nutritious meals that meet residents' dietary needs and preferences.

n

Ensure compliance with IDDSI guidelines and residents' care plans.

n





Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in the kitchen.

n

Work collaboratively with the kitchen and care team.

n

Manage food inventory and minimize waste.

n

What We're Looking For:

n

Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification).

n

Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within the aged care sector or a comparable environment such as hospitals, healthcare facilities, or retirement villages.

n

Sound knowledge of Food Safety Standards, HACCP principles, and safe food handling practices.

n

Demonstrated understanding of IDDSI standards and texture-modified diets.

n

Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

n

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with residents, families, and colleagues.

n

A genuine commitment to enhancing residents' quality of life through nutritious food, excellent service, and a positive dining experience.

n

Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
