About the Opportunity:

n

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Operations Manager to lead our Engineering division. In this key leadership role, you will provide both strategic and technical direction to a high-performing engineering team, driving engineering excellence, strengthening technical capability, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across systems, processes, and project delivery.

Working closely with Project Managers, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and clients, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

n

Lead the day to day operations of the engineering function, ensuring engineering resources, priorities and deliverables are aligned with business and project requirements.

n

Provide technical and operational leadership to the team consisting of engineers, project engineers, and drafters.

n

Oversee the design and specification of control systems, switchboards, and instrumentation, and review drafting outputs to ensure technical accuracy and consistency across multiple concurrent projects.

n

Act as the technical authority for LV power distribution and switchboard design, including power system studies, fault level and protection coordination using PowerCAD, ensuring compliance with AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 61439, and relevant client and industry standards.

n

Plan, prioritise and allocate engineering resources across the project pipeline to optimise utilisation and support profitable project delivery.

n

Drive quality assurance across engineering deliverables, including design reviews, drawing checks, and non-conformance resolution.

n

Proactively support Project Managers and clients with technical issue resolution,



ensuring effective root cause analysis and corrective action on engineering and operational matters.

n

Provide engineering leadership and technical input into quotations, tenders and proposals, ensuring engineering solutions are technically robust, commercially practical and aligned with client and project requirements.

What We're Looking For:

n

Degree qualified in Engineering (Electrical)

n

Chartered Engineering status (desirable)

n

10+ Years prior experience in LV Electrical Engineering, switchboard design, and control systems.

n

Prior experience in an Engineering Leadership or operations role, leading, mentoring and developing engineers in a project delivery environment.

n

Strong working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, including AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 61439.

n

High level of accuracy in technical review, documentation, and quality oversight.

n

Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence across all levels of an organisation.

n

Contribution to continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.

n

Ability to lead under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to technical detail.
