Job Description

ABS Trailquip is seeking an experienced Draftsperson / CAD Designer to support our engineering and production teams.

n

We manufacture high-quality heavy transport equipment, including dollies, trailers and custom-built transport solutions. This position will work closely with management, engineering, suppliers and workshop personnel to develop accurate designs and manufacturing documentation.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor
n
- Produce accurate manufacturing and fabrication drawings
n
- Create detailed drawings for trailers, dollies, components and assemblies
n
- Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
n
- Update and revise existing drawings and designs
n
- Maintain drawing records, registers and revision control
n
- Source and order components and materials from suppliers as required
n
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain pricing, availability and technical information
n
- Work with workshop personnel to resolve design and manufacturing issues
n
- Ensure drawings meet company standards, customer specifications and applicable Australian Design Rules
n
- Assist with design changes, new product development and custom projects
n
- Order & Source materials for each project

Skills and Experience

n

n




- Experience using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
n
- Ability to create detailed manufacturing drawings from 3D models
n
- Valuable understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes
n
- Ability to produce clear, accurate and practical workshop drawings
n
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
n
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
n
- Confidence communicating and negotiating with suppliers
n
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines
n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
- Experience with trailers, heavy vehicles, transport equipment or steel fabrication would be highly regarded
n

Qualifications

n

Relevant drafting, CAD, engineering or trade qualifications and experience
