Mi Piace Espresso Bar is a café in Cairns City is seeking an experienced Head Breakfast Chef to join our busy and dynamic team.

If you're an early riser, love the smell of bacon and eggs and can plate like Picasso with a great attitude and energy then this is the job for you!

n

Must have great communication skills, can delegate tasks efficiently and is highly motivated to oversee our kitchen team that can work efficiently and remain calm under pressure.

What we're looking for

n

n
- Experience working in a small, fast-paced stand-alone café environment with kitchen management skills.
n
- Minimum 3-5 years of kitchen management experience required.
n
- Comfortable working across all stations as needed including daily preparation.
n
- Breakfast and catering experience are a must.
n
- Minimum 5+ years of breakfast cooking experience required.
n
- Minimum 3-5 years of catering experience required.
n
- Strong focus on organization, food safety, cleanliness, stock rotation, inventory,
n
- costings and waste management
n
- Quality assurance – Oversee dishes being served and plated to make sure they are of a high standard, and each dish is uniform in presentation with a keen eye for detail.
n
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
n




- Well-groomed/presented clean cut chef – open kitchen.
n
- Able to multitask and react to situations and think on your feet.
n
- Menu creation, planning and weekly special suggestions to reflect seasonal
n
- Chance to work in a well-established and growing venue.
n
- Willing to commit to more of a long-term position
