About the role

This is a hands-on position primarily focused on the installation, maintenance, testing, fault finding and repair of wet fire protection systems across commercial and industrial properties throughout the Perth metropolitan area. You will work across existing commercial facilities, maintenance contracts, system upgrades, defect rectification and new installations. Your day-to-day work will primarily involve wet fire protection systems including fire hydrant systems, fire hose reel systems, fire sprinkler systems, fire booster assemblies, fire pumps and associated pipework, valves, backflow devices and associated fire-service pipework, and commercial fire-service installations and modifications. The role will involve a combination of planned maintenance, installation works, repairs, upgrades, testing and fault finding.

Key responsibilities

- Installing, modifying and repairing commercial fire-service pipework
- Carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance on wet fire systems
- Undertaking repairs to fire hydrants, hose reels, valves, boosters and associated equipment
- Completing new fire hydrant and hose reel installations
- Assisting with sprinkler installation, modification and repair works where competent and authorised
- Diagnosing leaks, faults and performance issues
- Completing hydrant flow testing and system performance testing
- Assisting with fire pump and water-supply system testing
- Carrying out system isolation, draining, reinstatement and commissioning as required
- Identifying defects and recommending appropriate repairs

About you





- Previous experience working with commercial wet fire protection systems
- Relevant plumbing or fire protection trade qualifications
- Appropriate WA trade licensing or authorisations applicable to the work being undertaken
- Previous experience in the fire protection industry
- Experience with commercial fire hydrant and hose reel systems
- Experience installing and repairing fire-service pipework
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Construction White Card
- Solid commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to work independently and manage your own jobs
