Job Title/Position: Entry level Cloud Security Analyst / Junior Cloud Security Analyst

Overview

n

We're looking for a motivated Junior Cloud Security Analyst to help secure and maintain our AWS cloud infrastructure.

n

This role combines cloud monitoring, security auditing, and infrastructure provisioning using Terraform.

n

You'll work closely with our Cloud Engineering and Security Operations teams to identify vulnerabilities, manage access controls, automate infrastructure deployment, and ensure our cloud and web environments remain secure and compliant.

n

This is an ideal position for someone with a robust foundational knowledge of AWS and IT security who's eager to develop hands‐on experience in cloud security operations and DevSecOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Cloud Monitoring & Security Operationsn n
- Monitor AWS services and resources through CloudWatch, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and CloudTrail for performance, compliance, and security alerts.
n
- Assist in identifying, investigating, and documenting potential security incidents.
n
- Support the automation of security monitoring and reporting tasks.
n

n
- Access Management & Security Auditingn

n
- Manage and review IAM users, roles, and policies to enforce least privilege and MFA.
n
- Assist with User Access Reviews and AWS account audits to ensure security compliance.
n
- Conduct routine AWS security posture assessments aligned with CIS benchmarks and internal standards.
n

n
- Website & Application Securityn

n
- Perform basic website vulnerability scans and identify potential security loopholes.
n
- Support teams in analyzing and remediating findings from OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, or Nessus scans.
n
- Document findings and collaborate with developers to apply recommended security fixes.
n

n




- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Resource Provisioningn

n
- Create and manage AWS resources using Terraform, ensuring configurations follow security and compliance best practices.
n
- Maintain Terraform modules for common infrastructure components (IAM roles, S3, EC2, security groups).
n
- Review and apply Terraform plan changes under guidance from senior engineers.
n
- Contribute to version control (Git/GitHub) and CI/CD integration for automated deployments.
n

- Vulnerability Management & Patch Recommendationsn

n
- Track vulnerabilities across systems and web applications.
n
- Recommend and coordinate patches and configuration updates.
n
- Support documentation of remediation progress and follow‐ups.
n

Required Skills & Qualifications

n

n
- 1–2 years of hands‐on experience in AWS administration or cloud operations.
n
- Familiarity with AWS IAM, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and Security Hub.
n
- Working knowledge of Terraform for creating, modifying, and managing AWS resources.
n
- Understanding of networking and security principles (VPC, security groups, subnets, firewalls).
n
- Awareness of web application vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10).
n
- Basic experience with Linux/Unix systems and command‐line operations.
n
- Exposure to monitoring tools (Datadog, Splunk, or equivalent) is an advantage.
n

Preferred Certifications (Nice to have)

- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or AWS Certified Security – Specialty (in progress)

- CompTIA Security+ or Certified in Cybersecurity (CC)

- Terraform Associate (HashiCorp Certified)
