Head of PMO

The organisation is moving away from traditional project delivery towards a contemporary, agile operating model.

Lead the Transformation of Enterprise Delivery. This isn't a BAU PMO role.

n

This is an opportunity to reshape how a large Australian organisation delivers technology, digital and business initiatives. They'll be looking for an experienced Head of PMO to design and lead a PMO that enables faster delivery, stronger governance and better business outcomes.

You'll strike the balance between executive governance, financial discipline and giving delivery teams the autonomy they need to succeed. If you have successfully transformed a traditional PMO into a modern, agile delivery function, this is a rare opportunity to make a genuine impact.

What you'll be doing

- Design and lead a PMO aligned to an agile, product and squad-based operating model.
n
- Build lightweight governance that supports delivery without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
n
- Own portfolio governance including demand management, prioritisation, funding and investment decisions.
n
- Provide executive visibility across delivery, risks, dependencies and strategic initiatives.
n




- Manage portfolio financials including Opex, Capex, forecasting and benefits realisation.
n
- Partner with Technology, Product, Finance and business leaders to improve delivery outcomes.
n
- Lead and develop a high‐performing PMO team supporting enterprise‐wide initiatives.
n
- Drive continual improvement across portfolio reporting, governance and delivery tooling.

What we're looking for

n

You'll bring experience leading PMOs within large, complex enterprise environments and have successfully delivered organisational change. Ideally you'll have experience with:

n

- Transforming traditional PMOs into agile or product‐led delivery functions.
n
- Enterprise portfolio, programme and investment governance.
n
- Agile operating models including squads, chapters or tribes.
n
- Portfolio financial management, forecasting and benefits tracking.
n
- Executive stakeholder management across Technology, Finance and business leadership.
n
- Jira, Jira Align, ServiceNow, Power BI or similar portfolio tooling.
n
- Leading teams through large‐scale organisational change.
