Support Staff and Allied Professionals

School support staff and allied professionals play a vital role in helping WA public schools run smoothly. Casual opportunities are available across a wide range of roles, including:

- Education assistants
n
- School officers and administrative support
n
- Library officers
n
- Cleaners and gardeners
n
- Residential supervisors
n
- Technical, farm or laboratory assistants
n
- Other non‐teaching support roles

Join Casual Staff Seeker
n
Casual Staff Seeker (CSS) is an online booking system used by many WA public schools to book casual relief staff. Once registered, you can:
n
n
- receive booking requests by SMS
n
- update your availability in one place
n
- let many schools know you are ready to work
n
n
This pathway is for non‐teaching roles only. If you are a teacher seeking both casual teaching and non‐teaching work, apply to the Casual Staff Seeker – Teacher.

How It Works
n
Joining CSS is a simple two-step process:
n
Step 1: Register online
n
n
- Select Apply for Job and submit the required documentation listed under 'Get Started'. We will review your information and prepare your profile for activation.
n
n
Step 2: Create your profile
n
n
- Once accepted, you will receive access to CSS to set your availability, locations and role details. Schools use this information to match you to casual work opportunities.
n
n
CSS increases access to casual work but does not guarantee employment.
n
Before you apply
n
To register for Casual Staff Seeker, you must have:
n
n
- Department of Education Screening Clearance Numbern n
- All employees must consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you can work casually.
n
- Other police clearances/criminal record checks are not accepted.
n
n
- WA Working With Children Check (WWCC)n
n
- If you do not have a current WWCC card or an application receipt, you must apply for WWCC before registering for Casual Staff Seeker.
n
- The WWCC form can be signed by a representative at any WA public school.
n

Get started
n
Select Apply for Job at the top or bottom of this advert and follow the instructions. You must answer all questions and upload the required documents:
n
n
- Identification (note, drivers' licence is not accepted)n n
- Birth certificate or passport (a current passport is preferred; an expired passport may be accepted for Australian citizens and permanent residents).
n
- Evidence of name change (if any of your documents show different names)
n
n
- Evidence of eligibility to work in Australia (if your identification is not from Australia or New Zealand):n
n
- Australian or Recent Zealand citizenship; or
n
- Your overseas passport and a copy of your visa information from Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO)
n
n
- Working with Children (WWC) check card or receipt confirming you have applied
n
n
You may also upload a CV/Resume or any qualifications or certificates relevant to the roles you're interested in.
n
You will receive a confirmation email, and we will contact you by email if we need more information.
n
After your application is accepted
n
We will send you instructions on how to access Casual Staff Seeker and set up your online profile. Schools may then contact you about casual opportunities by SMS.
n
Please note: schools may also use other services to manage casual work.
